Everest Base Camp Trekking in October

October is mid month of most busy time, Autumn season. During this time, trekkers will enjoy the spectacular views of snow-capped mountains, green lush hills, alpine forests, flora and fauna. October is the peak time for Everest Base Camp trek and offers the clear mountain views, fresh air and clear days. You will have excellent weather for photography.

Weather and Temperature: The weather during October is moderate. Days are warmer and nights are colder as altitude rises. The temperature goes 12-15 degree Celsius at day time while at night, it goes upto -6 degree Celsius.

You can expect the average sunshine time about 6-7 ours per day. The weather in the mountain area can be changeable.

The average wind speed during October is around 8-11 km/hr.

Festivals: The biggest festival of Nepalese people, Dashain falls during this month.

Off Seasons (Winter and Monsoon)

Everest base camp trekking during winter season from mid December to February is cold and may mark with the heavy snowfalls. The temperature during the day time is quite warm whereas during night time is colder. Winter is the off-season with the remarkable low cost, less possibility of Kathmandu lukla flight (due to weather change, flight may be cancelled or re-scheduled), less number of trekkers and the tea-houses may close. The climate is too cold but the mountain views are clear as the sky is clear.
