Because you are heading to the base of the world’s tallest mountain, of course, there will be some difficulties.

Everest Base Camp Trek is a long hike, that is, 2 weeks. Now these weeks also include your arrival and departure days in and from Nepal. For two weeks, you must have a strong determination as well as a basic fitness because you will be ascending to an altitude of 5555 m and covering a distance of 65 km, that is, from Lukla, the starting point of Everest Base Camp Trek. Someday, you walk 5 km, someday 15 km or someday 3 hours, someday 5 hours, and someday 9 hours. The trekking route is steep and rocky as well as icy and snowy, depending upon the season and goes up and down. In the up and down, you need to take a rest. You heart also beats.

Altitude Mountain Sickness (AMS) is another difficulty of Everest Base Camp Trek, which will show its affect as you reach 3000 m plus. At this altitude, oxygen is thin. The major symptoms are Nausea, vomiting , loss of appetite, insomnia, persistent headache, dizziness, light headedness, confusion, disorientation, drunken gait, weakness, fatigue, lassitude, heavy legs, slight swelling of hands and face, difficulty in breathing, and reduction in urination. The best way to deal with Altitude Mountain Sickness is to drink a lot of water. To deal with AMS, the trek guide also carries a First-Aid Box. If you suffer from it severely, then you should descend to a lower altitude. In case of severe AMS, you will be airlifted to Kathmandu. AMS has no relation to trekker’s fitness, age, and sex because trekker may or may not suffer from it.
